is a great product, I use it all the time in my hostal and I have no problem with it

Don't buy this product

Don't buy this product. If you must buy it buy it from Magicjack so you get the 30 day guarantee. I bought it here on Amazon and once installed the audio would cut in and out. I worked with Magicjack to re-install their software but the problem continued to reoccur. The Amazon seller would not let me return and would not refund my purchase. I contacted Magicjack and they said they only issue refunds to those who buy direct from them. On another note, the software slows down your computer. I currently have cable phone service through Comcast and it works fine so I know it wasn't my internet connection. Buyer beware!

This MagicJack device has got to be the worst purchase I've made in many a year. The device arrived on Monday, April 26 and I have not been able to get this to operate properly yet. I spent 3.5 hours on the computer "chatting-typing" with magic jack technicians on Monday night, spent another 40 minutes with no results on Tuesday, and just got done going through yet another unfruitful session, a 2.5 hour VERY frustrating typing session. These people lie about everything and have no one there to really help and refuse to allow a telephone troubleshoot session. Everything is done through endless typing sessions. I would like to return the device and have the charges credited back to my card. I have no quarrel at all with Infinite Surplus as the item was delivered far faster than I anticipated. It's just too bad that magic jack doesn't have the same scruples and good customer service as does Infinite Surplus. Thank YOU Infinite Surplus for your courtesy and your prompt service.

It took over my landline phone causing it to always ring busy every time a call came to the home phone. This made it impossible for me to then use the house phone. While using my computer when the device was "in use" (or "in useless" I should say)I virtually had NO SERVICE at all! MJ would never allow me to set the device up so that I could make or receive calls from it and it blocked my landline service. It was like having no phone service at all!!!

By the way, I'm not saying all the devices themselves are useless, I can't really give it a fair evaluation since I never could get it set up properly--just writing about the fact that the technical support system for the device is pitifully inadequate, is a waste of your time, potentially for several HOURS of your time over a span of several DAYS, sitting and typing and typing and typing and typing for HOURS in these chat sessions, and if something is wrong, no resolution to the problem. The techs are apathetic but usually are civil toward the customer in spite of being useless otherwise BUT WILL NOT GIVE A TELEPHONE NUMBER to allow a customer to actually speak to anyone in tech support.

I've heard and read reviews from satisfied customers as well as NUMEROUS DIS-satisfied customers, seemingly more of them are DIS-satisfied than SAT-isfied.

"This manufacturer makes everything cheap. That includes the durability of the product itself. I have had 2 of these cease to function before the initial year was even half over. On one of them, I bought a 5 year contract, which just like the product, is now worthless. I contacted the manufacturer about the defective equipment. They do NOT stand behind their product, and have refused to do anything about it. Don't waste your money. Learn from mine, and many others BAD experience with the BIGGEST RIP-OFF of 2008....."
