Better than most phones I have!

The phone does appear and install (and works) without the driver installed, however (the first reviewer stated this as well) the ringer is not that loud. UNLESS you install the driver software, then it is actually VERY loud. And also the buttons do not work on the phone until you install the driver (which integrates perfectly into XP and Skype).
When the Phone is disconnected, it will default back to your soundcard automatically, so if you get a call it will always work one way or the other. It has an LCD display which displays useful information (caller ID and length of call, and time date) but does NOT display unless the drivers are installed. So I suggest installing the drivers, even though the basic sound functions DO work without it.
Very economical and VERY GOOD deal.
Best Skype USB phone I've tried.

I'm keeping this baby... IT works.. And works.. and works.
I haven't had a lock up yet.
I've tried 2 wifi phone (that required a computer), and 1 bluetooth phone. All 3 locked up/crashed or required me shutting down apps and restarting them in order to "get it going again".

This thing works constantly, consistently and has good sound quality. The feel is a bit light; but heck; I use it with a laptop; so light is good.

excellent value

I like this gadget a lot. It gives a clearer sound. I didn't load the software so I simply operate it through skype itself and that works just fine. No problem to have skype identify the phone as the mic and the computer system use my other sound card. Well worth the money.
Easy

Simple installation procedures, very little set-up required and very easy to use. You can watch your credits while you're talking so you know exactly how much you're being charged, and you can set your account to automatically re-charge at a certain $-level if you want. You can also set up your account in your own monetary unit (USD, Euro, etc.) so you won't pay a conversion fee.
does just what it I needed

I recently dumped my cable company's Digital phone service and needed a good way to dial out via voip using Skypeout (a nominal 3$/mon). This unit fit the bill perfectly, and works very well. I use my PC speakers to hear calls, and have had no problems with feedback or such. It connects via usb and comes with a CD with the skypemate software (you will need to download latest version of Skype. I got this unit for about 20 dollars including shipping. Would recommend this product.
