The Wi-Fi Phone for Skype SO-20 by IPEVO is a compact cordless phone designed to put the power of Skype into the palm of your hand no computer required! Fully Skype-certified, the SO-20 takes all the convenient features of the Skype VOIP computer application history, contact list, status, Skype user search and condenses them into an easy-to-use interface. With the SO-20, you'll be able to enjoy low-cost international and domestic calling and free Skype-to-Skype calls most anywhere in the world or right at home with any available Wi-Fi connection. The SO-20 has your maximum convenience in mind. After a few hours' charging, the SO-20 is ready to go no hassles with installing Skype or frustrations with endless setting configurations. The SO-20 will automatically detect any available networks, and you can simply select your preferred network and input a password if necessary. From there, sign directly into your existing Skype account, or create a new free Skype account right there on the phone. The SO-20 will connect to your account and import your contact list, along with such things as Skype Credit. Non-Skype mobile phone or landline users can call you directly if you opt into the SkypeIn program, while you can call non-Skype phones via the optional SkypeOut program. Your Skype voicemail (another optional service) is also easily accessible. My saving solution   Review Date: November 20, 2009 Reviewer: sommerfugl, I have been using the phone for like a week now. I love it!!! I have been using skype and skype-in for over 3 years now and with a calling plan for like a year. I live in Europe and my family in the states. I decided to look into alternatives to have skype available w/o any computer. I did a lot of research and this wifi phone, among all, had the best reviews overall so I decided to give it a shot. So far so good, I love the sound quality and so does my mom and everybody else. Sometimes people had issues hearing me,specially when I called from the skype in my cellphone, even though I could hear them so clearly. Now they can call me and I dont need a computer on in order to receive calls and make calls, plus sound quality is awesome. The phone looks and feels just like a cellphone, so we always have it laying around and at night we put it in its cradle to charge. We don't have a landline at home, so skype has replace the local calling too but the thing is that we didnt always have the computer on and starting it just to use skype was a pain so our cellphone bill was pretty high. Now we have the phone available 24/7. It has been a major change for us. A bit expensive, but a lot of worth.   Review Date: December 28, 2009 Reviewer: Luis V. This device works great, is very easy to setup and has all features I wanted. I feared it could not be configured with password enabled wireless networks, but no problem, it took the WPA key I have setup in my home wireless router with no problem. Only concern is battery life, as I left it out of its charging cradle for 1 day and charge was empty. Mrozinski, Boca Raton, FL This phone is fantastic! It is nice and small, compact an easy to carry with me wherever I go. About 1/2 the size of my Blackberry. It immediately picks up the WiFi signal automatically as soon as I am within range of the WiFi signal. No searching required. Sound quality is crystal clear and loud enough to hear even in a noisy restaurant without having to plug in my ear buds. It uses all of the Skype features available through Skype and easily stores my 12,000+ contaccts phone book. I also like the feature to charge the phone using a USB connection to my laptop so I don't have to carry the charger with me. The only improvement that I would suggest is a speakerphone.
